As Americans grow concerned about the economy, Trump's approval ratings decline
ChainCatcher news, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found that President Trump's approval rating has slightly declined in recent days as more Americans express concern about the direction of the U.S. economy, with Trump threatening to impose tariffs on many countries. The six-day poll concluded on Tuesday, showing that 44% of respondents approved of Trump's job performance, down from 45% in the poll conducted from January 24 to 26.In the latest poll, the proportion of Americans who disapprove of President Trump's job performance has significantly increased to 51%, compared to just 41% when he first took office. Trump's immigration policies received relatively high support, with 47% of respondents backing his policies, including a commitment to increase deportations of illegal immigrants. This figure has not changed much since January. However, in the latest survey, the percentage of Americans who believe the economy is on the wrong track rose from 43% to 53%. Public support for Trump's economic management dropped from 43% to 39%.
