Web3 game Dimensionals abandons blockchain features and shifts to a Web2 model
ChainCatcher news, according to NFT Plazas, the Roguelike card-building game Dimensionals, developed by Mino Games, has officially transitioned to a pure Web2 model.Mino Games CEO Sash MacKinnon revealed that the company initially attempted to enter Web3 in March 2023 by issuing the free Genesis Stone series NFTs to increase game visibility and attract mainstream players. However, the project faced issues such as bot malicious scraping, DDoS attacks, and rapid changes in the NFT market, leading to expected revenues dropping to zero. Additionally, the community was disappointed by the decline in NFT value, resulting in low user conversion rates.Mino Games attempted a second NFT minting and closed Alpha testing, but the results were unsatisfactory. After extensive discussions with investors and advisors, Mino Games decided to transition to Web2 to avoid further financial losses.Previous news, Mino Games completed a $15 million funding round to build Web3 games, led by Standard Crypto.
