The documentary "Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum" has started streaming on-chain, with plans to be released on major streaming platforms in 2025
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, a brand new documentary closely observing Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum ecosystem will be available for streaming on Friday. Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum chronicles Buterin and the Ethereum builder community's struggle for an open internet.In July 2021, Vitalik: The Story of Ethereum completed the largest crowdfunding campaign in documentary history, raising 1,036 Ether (currently worth about $2.6 million) for its production budget. The film premiered on Wednesday in 23 countries, sponsored by Ethereum Layer 2 Base.The movie trailer features interviews with Buterin, his parents, and other artists and tech experts such as Dmitry Buterin, Danny Ryan, Itzel Yard, and Tim O'Reilly. It traces Buterin's childhood and tells the story of how he helped build and launch Ethereum through new interviews and archival footage. This new film will be streamed for 30 days via the token-gated website ethereumfilm.xyz, with plans for a major streaming platform release in 2025.The film is directed by Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple, produced by Carrie Weprin and Jenna Kelly. It is co-produced by Optimist and Strange Design along with Lone Palm Productions, Big Beach, and TIME Studios.
