BlackRock Bitcoin ETF options debut with 80% bullish outlook, investor optimism intensifies
ChainCatcher news, the Nasdaq Stock Exchange listed options for BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF on Tuesday. Data shows that over 350,000 contracts changed hands, with about 80% being bullish bets. Among the 10 most traded options, 9 were betting on an increase. The most traded was a call option expiring in January with a strike price of $55, followed by a call option expiring in December with a strike price of $65, which is 25% higher than the ETF's closing price on Monday. Bitcoin reached a historic high of $94,032 on the day the options contracts were listed.Some investors expect that U.S. Bitcoin ETF options will attract more capital inflow. Caroline Mauron, co-founder of Orbit Markets, stated that the options trading volume is a "good start, showcasing the increasing connection between the crypto-native ecosystem and traditional financial markets. While the volume itself is not yet enough to influence the direction of the underlying asset, the positive news has indeed fueled bullish sentiment."
