Previously, Trump threatened during his campaign that he would retaliate if Zuckerberg attempted to influence the election against him. Zuckerberg's efforts to strengthen the relationship began several years ago, including a dinner with Trump on the terrace of Mar-a-Lago in November. Before the dinner, Zuckerberg privately showcased Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses to Trump and gifted them to him.
