BitMEX co-founder Samuel Reed pleads guilty and agrees to pay a $10 million fine
ChainCatcher news, Samuel Reed, co-founder of the cryptocurrency trading platform BitMEX, today admitted to violating the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) for failing to establish, implement, and maintain anti-money laundering (AML) procedures at BitMEX. He agreed to pay a $10 million criminal fine under a plea agreement, which represents the economic benefits obtained from the crime.The other two founders of BitMEX, Arthur Hayes and Benjamin Delo, pleaded guilty to the same charges in February 2022.
