Multiple nonprofit organizations in the United States criticize Trump's initiative to issue Meme coins
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, regarding Trump's issuance of the meme coin TRUMP, Danielle Brian, executive director of the Project on Government Oversight, stated that meme coins are generally unrelated to any underlying business, making them highly speculative for investors, while potentially yielding substantial profits for founders, further crossing boundaries.Brian said, "Any efforts by the Trump Organization to indicate their concern about potential conflicts (especially those involving foreign governments) seem to completely undermine their efforts."Other groups expressing concerns include the non-profit Campaign Legal Center and the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, the latter of which sued Trump during his first term for violating constitutional prohibitions on foreign gifts and payments, but was unsuccessful. Campaign Legal Center's chief legal counsel Kedric Payne stated, "The obvious distinction with cryptocurrency is how quickly you can get unexpected wealth."
