Byte's metaverse project PICO sees nearly half of its employees leave, with several executives resigning or being reassigned
ChainCatcher news, reporters from The Paper learned from multiple informed sources that several core business leaders at PICO have recently resigned or been reassigned. In the first half of this year, PICO Vice President Ren Lifeng has effectively been in a state of resignation, having long ceased to be responsible for PICO's business management, but still holds a position within the company. According to informed sources, Ren Lifeng will officially resign at the end of this year.Currently, PICO's internal business is mainly divided into the marketing department, hardware department, OS product department, content culture department, and social center, with a significant number of employees being laid off or resigning voluntarily. According to internal employees, PICO previously had over 2,000 employees at its peak, with about 2/3 of the marketing department staff having left, and a slightly lower turnover rate in the technical department. The total number of employees who have left is now close to half of the peak period.Later that day, a relevant person in charge at PICO responded to The Paper, stating that the company will maintain normal product operations and continue to strengthen its investment in product technology.
