This metric measures the blocks assembled by MEV-Boost block builders, who, according to statistical analysis, seem to have deliberately excluded crypto addresses that are sanctioned by the U.S. OFAC.Wahrstätter explained, "Block builders have the right to decide which transactions (and in what order) to include in their blocks, as well as which transactions they want to censor. This means that block builders can determine the content of the blockchain."

With Blocknative's decision to stop its MEV-boost relay service, concerns about increased centralization of the Ethereum network have intensified. According to recent data, 93% of Ethereum blocks created in the past 14 days utilized MEV-boost, with five entities responsible for 98% of MEV-boosted transactions.Currently, only four relayers remain active on the network, playing a crucial role in transaction settlement on Ethereum. The remaining four relayers do not charge service fees, making a core part of Ethereum infrastructure unprofitable for its operators. If the economic incentive issues are not resolved, the centralization problem of the relays may further exacerbate.
