We intend to open source it because we want people to fork it; in fact, the GitHub repo has already been forked about 4,700 times. The brand is distinctly different from decentralized protocols or open-source software interfaces. The Uniswap brand can be used in various ways, but there are restrictions in the trademark policy.For example: a fork can say "built on the Uniswap protocol," but cannot say "built by the Uniswap team." Our trademark policy is based on the trademark policies of Linux and Mozilla, rooted in open-source best practices.
