Uniswap founder: BUSL is the best choice for the Uniswap community, and if UNI holders disagree, they can change it to GPL through governance voting
ChainCatcher news, Uniswap founder Hayden Adams tweeted regarding the v4 license, apologizing to anyone who feels uneasy about the use of the term "open source" in relation to Uniswap, stating that "source available" is a more accurate term.
Adams expressed his personal belief that BUSL is the best choice for the Uniswap community; the BUSL that provides a GPL change date is fundamentally different from other proprietary licenses and is closer to open source; he fully understands that some may disagree with the above; if UNI holders disagree, they can vote through v4-core-license-date.uniswap.eth to change to GPL at an earlier date.
Contributing to the BUSL code is at the discretion of the participants, and if participants believe they can make significant contributions but wish to be compensated, they can try to apply for funding. Publicly building V4 is definitely better for the ecosystem and all projects built on it. (source link)
