ChainCatcher news, Matter Labs co-founder and CEO Alex stated in the latest community AMA that zkSync is now fully focused on Era, aiming to build a scalable value internet using the ZK Stack.zkSync Era will switch to the STARK-based proof system Boojum, which is currently in the final stages. Once the switch is complete, it will bring more efficient oracles and lower-cost on-chain privacy.

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, Matter Labs denied the allegations from Polygon Zero, stating that the code "clearly indicates the source" in a line at the top of one of the files. A Matter Labs spokesperson stated that Polygon's article contains "false claims," and that "the new Boojum high-performance proof system utilizes 5% of Plonky2, which is clearly indicated in the first line of our module."In a screenshot of a Matter Labs file named "mod.rs," Polygon stated that the file "does not credit the original author." Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski stated that the first line of the mod.rs file clearly indicates, "Note: We use the non-vectorized field implementation of Plonky2 as a baseline." However, Matter Labs has not yet responded to other cases mentioned by Polygon Zero.

ChainCatcher news, the Polygon official zero-knowledge proof team Polygon Zero stated that the recently released Boojum proof system by Matter Labs contains a large amount of source code copied and pasted from the performance-critical components of the Plonky2 library, without attribution to the original copyright or authors. Besides the directly copied code, Boojum is extremely similar to Plonky2. It uses the same parallel repetition strategy to enhance robustness in small ranges, employs similar custom gates for efficient recursive verification arithmetic, and utilizes the same lookup parameters developed by Polygon Zero member Ulrich Haböck.In addition, Polygon Zero also stated that the founder of Matter Labs claims that Boojum is over 10 times faster than Plonky2, which is a misleading statement.
