CESS, a decentralized data infrastructure, is a blockchain-based decentralized cloud storage network and CD²N network that supports online data storage and real-time sharing, providing a full-stack solution for the storage and retrieval of high-frequency dynamic data in Web3.**

CESS Network is a Layer 1 built on the DePIN concept, characterized by decentralization, efficiency, security, privacy, and scalability. CESS supports large-scale commercial storage and can accommodate phenomenal decentralized applications (dApps); CESS supports the monetization of data and the free flow/sharing of data value, while achieving user data privacy protection and data sovereignty returning to data owners in a trustless manner, thereby constructing a prosperous, diverse, and sovereign data asset economy new ecosystem.

CESS Project Development

Overview

This week, we completed the upgrade of the consensus node substrate framework, as well as the business adjustments and code refactoring work after the upgrade; we also completed the development of the CD²N layer 2 node, which aims to help storage nodes earn incentives by sharing data; additionally, we fixed issues such as CESS Scan being unable to parse blocks and a large amount of data not being added to the database.

1. Blockchain Network

The CESS testnet v0.7.7 consists of consensus nodes and storage nodes. The consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serve as the "data certification station" in the CESS network (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and act as the "data storage pool" in the CESS network. Here are the updates for this week:

Consensus Node [v0.7.8]

(1) Completed the upgrade of the consensus node substrate framework to the latest version;

(2) Completed business adjustments and code refactoring work after the upgrade of the consensus node framework;

Storage Node [v0.7.16]

(1) Optimized the idle space proof state recovery algorithm after the storage node restarts, automatically deleting invalid data after recovery;

2. Products

CESS is committed to providing practical storage services and CD²N services for Web3, meeting large-scale commercial storage needs, achieving millisecond-level data retrieval and return. CESS pioneered decentralized object storage services (DeOSS), and the product ecosystem of the CESS network is gradually becoming richer and more prosperous. Currently, innovative applications such as online file sharing tools (DeShare), public chain snapshot storage services, and CESS cloud storage have been incubated. We welcome you to experience them. Object Storage Service (DeOSS)

(1) Completed the development of all functions of the CD²N layer 2 node;

(2) Implemented data encryption and remote authentication functions based on new algorithms for the TEE audit module of the CD²N node;

Official Website (cess.network)

(1) Completed the upgrade of the official website email service, achieving one-click sending of bulk emails;

(2) Completed the development of the front and back-end business functions for the new event Pathfinder;

Blockchain Explorer (CESS Scan)

(1) Fixed the issue where CESS Scan could not parse transactions and events in blocks;

(2) Fixed the issue where the CESS Scan backend database crashed abnormally when inserting a large amount of data;

CESS Community Operations

CESS Testnet Progress

(1) According to data from CESS Scan (https://scan.cess.network/), as of November 10, the CESS testnet v0.7.7 Venus version has been released for 102 days, with a total of over 7655 successfully registered storage nodes and 22 consensus nodes, providing a total storage space of 61.60 PiB, with verified storage space of 36.86 PiB; if test users encounter issues during the node construction process, they can seek help in the official CESS Discord (https://discord.gg/cess).

(2) The latest incentive testnet Venus has officially launched on July 31, 2024! The testnet incentive activities are ongoing, and participating storage node tests will earn points that can be exchanged for mainnet CESS Tokens. The total incentives will be determined based on the effective storage capacity of miners at the end of this version of the testnet. (3) This week, CESS, as a member of the Government Blockchain Association (GBA), attended the Blockchain & Infrastructure conference and delivered a speech! CESS's joining of GBA demonstrates our active participation in global government and public sector cooperation and our vision to promote industry mainstreaming. CESS co-founder Joseph Li delivered a keynote speech titled "Decentralized Platforms, Storage, and Computing" and participated in a panel discussion with industry leaders, delving into key topics related to the development of Web3. (4) Next, CESS will co-host the "DRIVING WEB3 TRAFFIC: SEAMLESS ENGAGEMENT" themed event in Bangkok on November 14 with industry innovation projects such as Syrupal Protocol. From the 15th to the 16th, CESS's developer relations head Alex will also serve as a judge for the Polkadot Hackathon Bangkok station competition, looking forward to the wonderful performances of the participants challenging the CESS Bounty!
