The incentive test network version 0.5.2 officially launched on October 31, 2022.

It has been over a month and a half since the launch of the v0.5.1 testnet. After continuous improvements and enhancements to the testnet, CESS officially launched the incentivized testnet v0.5.2 version on October 31, 2022, at 16:00.

In the previous version of the testnet, CESS accumulated over 40 TiB of storage capacity and more than 800 storage nodes participating, with data and attention surpassing the previous version of the testnet. Additionally, during the v0.5.1 test version period, CESS conducted global promotional activities, and we believe the new version of CESS will reach new milestones!

The updates for CESS v0.5.2 incentivized testnet are as follows:

1. Adjusted the way storage miners connect to the blockchain network, allowing them to connect as blockchain nodes via P2P;

2. Enriched the status information of the scheduler, adding records and displays for idle data segment authentication speed;

3. Optimized the verification process of the storage proof mechanism, allowing verifiers to directly obtain all information required for audit proof from the chain;

4. Updated the reputation scoring model of the R²S consensus mechanism, reducing the weight of historical contributions to encourage the participation of new consensus nodes;

5. Completed a series of bug fixes and code optimizations, see details on GitHub: https://github.com/CESSProject/cess/pull/88.
In addition to significant updates to the mechanism, the new version also includes updates to the incentive mechanism:

Storage Miners

This round of testing will last for 2-3 weeks, with a total reward of 2000 points for all storage miners. The final points for each miner will be calculated based on the percentage of total storage power (Storage Power) that miner occupies. For example, if the total storage power of the CESS network at the end is 10,000 GiB, and miner A has a power of 100 GiB at the end, then miner A will receive 20 points in this round.

Note: Only miners with a power greater than 1G at the end of this round of testing will be considered valid miners. The total storage power of the network and the storage miners' power can be viewed at the link: https://substats.cess.cloud/.

Consensus Miners

No rewards will be distributed during the consensus miner testing period, but mysterious rewards will be provided after the testing concludes. Those interested in participating in the consensus miner testing, please apply for 1 million TCESS test coins in the CESS official Discord miner-support channel.

Daily storage miner power (Power) and point rewards will be announced on CESS's official Twitter (https://twitter.com/CESS_Storage), with the storage miner power rounded to the nearest value after the decimal point. After the CESS mainnet goes live, rewards will be distributed at a ratio of 1:100 (i.e., 1 point can be exchanged for 100 CESS tokens).
