Circle December 2022 Reserve Report: Treasury Reserve Funds Exceed $44.5 Billion
ChainCatcher news, the issuer of the dollar stablecoin USDC, Circle, released the reserve report for December 2022, which was audited by Grant Thornton accounting group. The report details the composition of the reserve treasury of the stablecoin issuer Circle, which currently supports approximately 44.55 billion USDC with about 44.69 billion dollars in custodial accounts, a significant portion of which is in U.S. Treasury bonds.Circle's reserve fund is registered as a government money market fund, fully owned by Circle, and includes 14 different U.S. bonds valued at over 23.5 billion dollars. The fund also holds 48.9 million dollars in cash. U.S. banks holding Circle's cash reserves include Bank of New York Mellon, Citizens Trust Bank, Customers Bank, New York Community Bank, Signature Bank, Silicon Valley Bank, and Silvergate Bank.
