MetaMask product manager: There will be no upgrades to account abstraction and other new features for the time being, and there will be no token issuance in the short term
ChainCatcher news, MetaMask product lead Alex Jupiter stated in an interview with Decrypt that although various technologies aimed at optimizing user experience, such as account abstraction and EOA, were mentioned multiple times during EthCC, MetaMask will be very cautious in adopting these technologies. After all, for a self-custodial wallet with 30 million daily active users, security is the most important factor, while applications with a smaller user base are more likely to adopt new technologies. He also emphasized that "quick action and breaking conventions are not the essence of the Web3 spirit," especially in wallet development. However, Alex also mentioned that the team is currently researching better account abstraction solutions, but translating theory into code takes a long time. Additionally, the adoption of account abstraction will have to wait until the Web3 ecosystem is more mature and use cases are more developed.Furthermore, Alex stated that MetaMask "will not announce a token issuance plan in the short term."
