Polygon completes the Napoli hard fork upgrade, introducing the RIP-7212 proposal
According to ChainCatcher news, Polygon has announced the completion of the Napoli hard fork upgrade, making Polygon PoS the first chain to activate the Rollup Improvement Proposal (RIP) using RIP-7212, providing new precompiled support for the secp256r1 curve and making progress in interoperability with mainstream technologies. This upgrade is also consistent with Ethereum's recent Dencun hard fork improvements, enhancing block space efficiency, limiting the range of self-destruct opcodes, and reducing the overhead of memory copy techniques. Developed by the RollCall Working Group, RIP-7212 facilitates collaboration between L2 solutions to strengthen Ethereum's scalability and innovation efforts, enhancing the user experience.
