ChainCatcher news, according to Bitcoin.com, the decentralized identity project Worldcoin has announced the launch of Orb verification (i.e., iris scanning) services in Guatemala, Poland, and Malaysia, along with the introduction of the Face Auth feature.Face Auth is a new feature in its World ID suite that allows other applications to verify whether the person using the ID is the same individual who was verified at a Worldcoin center using the orb device (iris scanning device). This process only uses information from the user's mobile phone, protecting user data privacy and preventing potential fraud that could occur due to device theft.

ChainCatcher news, Worldcoin announced that it is testing facial recognition technology for its World App. This feature "is a private 1:1 facial match that ensures only those who have verified their World ID on the orb can" access the World App. The introduction of this measure aims to enhance the security of users utilizing the application for tools such as "online shopping, financial transactions, and secure login applications."According to the organization, there are currently nearly 15 million people worldwide using the World App digital wallet, with about 6.7 million users having officially verified their "identity" using Worldcoin's iris-scanning orb. Worldcoin allocates WLD tokens to those who prove their identity through eye scans and create a World ID.

ChainCatcher news, the Sei Foundation tweeted that "the requirement for facial recognition for Sei testnet incentives or airdrops is a misunderstanding." Participation in Sei's testnet incentives or airdrops does not require facial recognition or KYC.It is reported that after receiving feedback about a large number of bot attacks on Sei's Discord, the Sei Foundation tentatively added a third-party facial recognition tool in Discord, but Sei will not adopt any form of facial recognition or KYC.
