cLabs CTO: If the community votes to approve the proposal for Celo to transition to L2, the first hard fork will take place in August
ChainCatcher news, Marek Olszewski, CTO of Celo development company cLabs, stated in an interview with The Block that if the community votes to transition Celo from an EVM-compatible L1 public chain to an OP Stack-based Ethereum L2 proposal, the cLabs technical team will conduct the first hard fork of Celo in August. The hard fork will take place while the network is running normally and will only require upgrades for node operators and full node users, minimizing the impact on users or senior developers.Previous report, on July 25, the governance proposal regarding the migration of Celo to the Ethereum L2 architecture has opened community voting (Temperature Check). This governance proposal is a vote from the community, supporting Celo's transition from an independent EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain to Ethereum Layer 2.
