ChainCatcher news, mobile publisher Zynga has announced that it has abandoned its Web3 game Sugartown. The company revealed that it has sold "all products and assets" of the game to Web3 developer D20 Labs, with the specific sale amount not disclosed. Zynga first launched Sugartown last year, developing the game using Web3 and blockchain technology. The head of D2 marketing pointed out that the studio is entirely composed of Zynga's former Web3 team, and this handover has been in preparation for months, with plans to continue the original game's Web3 team's initiatives.

ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the publisher of the Grand Theft Auto series, Take-Two Interactive Software's subsidiary is launching its first Web3 game, Sugartown. It is reported that Sugartown is developed by Take-Two's subsidiary Zynga, allowing players the opportunity to earn in-game currency. Players will use Ethereum (or ERC-721) tokens to access the game. An access token named Oras will be issued later this year, with 10,000 of these tokens available for minting as part of the initial rollout.
