ChainCatcher news, according to official information, Newton (NEW) has officially been renamed to AB, and the exchanges HTX, MEXC, and 4E have successfully completed the trading code change from $NEW to $AB.Currently, trading, deposits, and withdrawals for the AB token have been switched on these three exchanges, and users' holdings remain unchanged, requiring no additional actions. At the same time, AB ecosystem projects such as NewSwap, NewMall, Andverse, and NewBridge will continue to operate normally. To better facilitate the transition of user experience, the NewPay wallet currently still displays as NEW, and will switch to AB after an upgrade later.

The platform aims to make the experience of using decentralized applications (dapps) across multiple blockchains as seamless as browsing the internet.By leveraging Polygon's decentralized AggLayer and Chain Development Kit, Newton will enable developers to build dapps that operate across chains without users needing to hold different wallets.This initiative marks a step towards what Magic Labs calls "chain unification," similar to the ACH or SWIFT standardization in traditional financial systems. If this technological standard gains traction, it could help address the "blockchain island" problem, which disperses liquidity and complicates the user experience in crypto.
