Irish police seized $7.1 million worth of cryptocurrency in a crackdown on darknet money laundering crimes
ChainCatcher news, the Irish police seized approximately $7.1 million (about €6.5 million) worth of cryptocurrency during a raid in North Dublin.This operation is part of a major investigation into money laundering and illegal transactions on the dark web, resulting in the arrest of three individuals, two men suspected of assisting a criminal organization in committing serious crimes, and a woman facing money laundering charges. Superintendent Michael Mullen of the Irish National Cyber Crime Bureau stated, "The arrest of these three individuals and the seizure of assets is the result of a highly complex investigation by the specialized investigators of the Irish National Cyber Crime Bureau into criminal activities on the dark web."
