The funds will be used to develop its shared Sequencer network. The Sequencer is responsible for coordinating transactions on Layer2 rollups, and Astria's goal is to enable anyone to deploy their own censorship-resistant rollup without relying on a centralized Sequencer. According to sources, the fund aims to raise $50 million, and the first deal has already been completed. Figment Capital stated, "To achieve global adoption of blockchain, four key challenges must be addressed: scalability, interoperability, privacy, and user experience (UX)."
