Ordinals released version 0.16.0, enhancing configuration flexibility and expanding inscription capabilities
ChainCatcher message, Bitcoin NFT protocol Ordinals has released version 0.16.0. This update focuses on enhancing user-friendliness and expanding software functionality. Now, users can set each top-level ord configuration through command line parameters, environment variables, or configuration files, greatly simplifying the operation process. Additionally, the project team has documented backward compatibility guarantees on recursive endpoints, promising not to remove or change fields that could break inscriptions, although new fields may be added in the future. Notably, inscription tag 15 has been added as a "note" field, allowing inscription tools to include the tool name in the inscription; this field will not be rendered, making it more flexible to use.The version update also includes displaying the initial synchronization time for comparing synchronization times across different versions, supporting the configuration of Ord servers through content proxies to test inscriptions dependent on mainnet inscriptions, and allowing re-inscriptions via batch files among other functional improvements. Furthermore, more fields have been added to r/blockinfo, providing detailed statistics on block size and fees, as well as simplifying the use of the `ord env` command through configuration files.
