ECB Governing Council Member: We should continue to gradually and slightly lower interest rates
ChainCatcher news, ECB board member Kazimir said on Monday that the European Central Bank should continue to gradually lower interest rates slightly, resisting the temptation to support economic growth in the Eurozone, which has structural flaws. The ECB lowered rates by 25 basis points to 3% last week, but some policymakers advocate for a larger cut, provided that economic growth is particularly weak and inflation may even fall below the ECB's 2% target in the medium term. The hawkish Kazimir stated in a blog post that maintaining a gradual approach by lowering rates by 25 basis points remains the most prudent strategy. (Jin Shi)
