Scroll: The next protocol upgrade is scheduled for release at the end of April, introducing support for EIP-4844, among other features
ChainCatcher news, Scroll has released some details about the next protocol upgrade on the X platform, which includes further enhancements to Ethereum compatibility and support for EIP-4844.First, its engineering team has been working hard to make Scroll Mainnet compatible with Dencun. This includes adding support for EIP-4844 data blobs, aiming to reduce transaction fees by 10 times with the help of some additional gas optimizations.In addition, its goals also include the SHA-256 opcode to further improve EVM compatibility and allow for a broader range of DApps and use cases to be built on Scroll.The team is making steady progress in these areas, and before the mainnet deployment, EIP-4844 support is undergoing a period of review. After this testing period, Scroll may be ready to release this protocol upgrade by the end of April. The official team will provide the community with a clearer timeline in the coming weeks, along with the exact date for deploying this upgrade.Moreover, the team is also working on implementing advanced DA compression and increasing support for the Ethereum EIP-1559 fee mechanism, both of which will be deployed on the Scroll Mainnet shortly after the next protocol upgrade at the end of May.
