ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the Bitcoin ZK Rollup protocol Citrea has deployed its BitVM-based bridge Clementine to the Bitcoin testnet.The Citrea team describes Clementine as a "trust-minimized bidirectional peg program," essentially a way to lock Bitcoin on the main chain and then mint an equivalent Bitcoin token for use on Citrea; to reverse this process, the token must be burned, after which Bitcoin can be withdrawn on the Bitcoin blockchain.Clementine leverages BitVM, a computational paradigm introduced by Bitcoin developer Robin Linus last year, designed ultimately to enable Ethereum-style smart contracts on Bitcoin while also paving the way for zero-knowledge computation.

ChainCatcher news, Bitcoin custody company Casa co-founder Jameson Lopp stated that due to factors such as the "block storm," the Bitcoin testnet occasionally produces over 10,000 blocks in a single day, leading to the current block height of 2,811,000 on the testnet, equivalent to the height of the Bitcoin mainnet in 2061. As a result, miner rewards on the testnet have decreased to nearly zero, making the network almost unusable for developers.Jameson Lopp suggested that Bitcoin developers and users migrate their infrastructure to "testnet4" in the coming months.

This will allow developers to utilize CatVM to build advanced OP_CAT applications and test them in real-time on the official test network.It is reported that Bitcoin Signet is a test network designed for developers, allowing them to create a block approximately every 10 minutes for software testing without miners and without proof of work. Signet is characterized by the requirement that each block must contain evidence (such as a signature) proving that the creation of the block has been approved by a trusted authority.

This protocol solution includes multiple components such as protocol specifications, Bitcoin SPV, SPV proof generators, and the RGB++ SDK, providing developers and early adopters with a permissionless and trustless deployment environment, allowing anyone to deploy Turing-complete scripts on the Bitcoin network and interact with them.It is reported that RGB++ is an extension protocol based on RGB, utilizing one-time seals and client verification technology to manage state changes and transaction validation. It maps Bitcoin UTXOs to Cells on the Nervos CKB through isomorphic binding and uses script constraints on both the CKB chain and the Bitcoin chain to verify the correctness of state calculations and the validity of ownership changes, enabling users to interact in a more flexible and secure manner on the Bitcoin network.
