2024.11.25~2024.12.01 CESS , a decentralized data infrastructure, is a blockchain-based decentralized cloud storage network and CD²N network that supports online data storage and real-time sharing, providing a full-stack solution for the storage and retrieval of high-frequency dynamic data in Web3.
CESS Network is a Layer 1 built on the DePIN concept, featuring decentralization, efficiency, security, privacy, and scalability. Overview
This week, we fixed the issue of RPC node crashes caused by module conflicts after upgrading the substrate framework of the CESS chain, as well as the issue where the TEE Node could not function properly; we upgraded the random challenge module for storage node service files, alleviating the pressure of single requests through multiple submissions of chunk proofs, preparing for the future storage of a large number of user files in the CESS network; we also improved the official website homepage, adding a blog interface to better showcase CESS news and updates to users; CESS held its second official meeting of IEEE P3220.02 on September 30, 2024, from 09:30 to 11:30 (UTC+8). Experts and scholars from more than ten organizations discussed and confirmed the technical outline of the P3220.02 protocol and elected the vice-chairman of the working group.
1. Blockchain Network
The CESS testnet v0.7.7 consists of consensus nodes and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serve as the "data certification station" in the CESS network (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and act as the "data storage pool" in the CESS network. Here are the progress updates for this week:
Consensus Nodes [v0.7.8]
(1) Fixed the issue of RPC node crashes caused by module conflicts after the CESS chain substrate framework upgrade;
(2) Fixed the issue where the TEE Node could not verify blocks due to RPC node crashes;
Storage Nodes [v0.7.16]
(1) Upgraded the random challenge module for storage node service files, alleviating the pressure of single requests through multiple submissions of chunk proofs;
(2) Completed the preliminary preparations for the testnet storage node abnormal idle space recovery plan;

Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
(1) Completed the development of the main functional modules for CD²N nodes, and will soon enter the debugging phase;
(2) Started the development of a new version of the gateway based on CD²N, which will be used to optimize the data access efficiency of the storage node pool;
(3) Upgraded the encryption data transmission algorithm between CD²N nodes to enhance the security of data sharing;

(1) Completed the UI design, content display, and login logic details for the Pathfinder event, optimizing and refining them;
(2) Improved the official website homepage, adding a blog interface to better showcase CESS news and updates;

CESS Testnet Progress
(1) According to CESS Scan (https://scan.cess.network/), as of December 1, the CESS testnet v0.7.7 Venus version has been released for 123 days, with a total of over 8215 successfully registered storage nodes and 22 consensus nodes, providing a total storage space of 61.22 PiB, with verified storage space of 40.97 PiB; if test users encounter issues during the node construction process, they can seek help in the CESS official Discord (https://discord.gg/cess).
(2) The latest incentive testnet Venus has officially launched on July 31, 2024! The testnet incentive activities are ongoing, and participating in storage node testing will earn points that can be exchanged for mainnet CESS Tokens. The total incentives will be determined based on the effective storage capacity of miners at the end of this version of the testnet. (3) This week, CESS officially announced a partnership with Mizzle! As a scalable and high-performance decentralized data infrastructure network, CESS will collaborate with the Mizzle no-code DevOps platform to enable developers to easily build and scale dApps. (4) On December 30, the head of CESS developer relations was invited to participate in an X Space event themed "Decentralized Computing in the AI Era." Alex engaged in dialogue with numerous innovators in the AI and Web3 fields and introduced CESS's innovative AI-LINK, which promotes the development of AI technology revolutions while ensuring user data privacy, security, and sovereignty.
