The Spanish court approved Roger Ver's bail, who will be extradited to the United States on charges of tax fraud
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, a Spanish court has approved bail for Bitcoin.com co-founder Roger Ver (Bitcoin Jesus). Roger Ver posted a bail of €150,000 ($163,000) on the condition that he must remain in Spain and surrender his passport. Ver must also appear in court every two days. Roger Ver is set to be extradited to the United States on charges of tax fraud.According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Ver failed to report capital gains or pay taxes on the Bitcoin he held. He began purchasing Bitcoin in 2011 and sold it for approximately €240 million in 2017, allegedly resulting in at least $48 million in unpaid taxes. Ver renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2014 and became a citizen of Saint Kitts and Nevis, but he is still required to file U.S. tax returns for certain asset gains.
