A hacker attacked PwC Venezuela's Twitter account to post phishing information, which is a vulnerability in Twitter's new feature
Chain Catcher News, recently, an attacker hacked into PwC Venezuela's Twitter account and posted phishing links related to free XRP giveaways, accompanied by a photo of Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse. The fraudulent tweets have since been deleted from the relevant account.According to analysis, one method the attacker used to lure victims through phishing attacks was to replace characters in the real URL with very similar-looking Unicode characters. Earlier this month, Twitter announced that it would allow users to edit tweets for a limited time after posting, raising concerns about whether "this feature would encourage malicious behavior like that seen on the PwC Twitter account." Experts believe that if a tweet goes viral, the person who posted it could modify it to include a phishing link, stealing victims' personal information, among other things. (Beincrypto)
