A fraud tool targeting TON network cryptocurrency wallets has ceased operations, with hackers claiming that the TON community lacks "whales."
According to ChainCatcher news reported by Cointelegraph, a cryptocurrency wallet fraud tool targeting the TON network has announced it will cease operations and direct users to another cryptocurrency fraud tool.Web3 security agency Scam Sniffer shared a screenshot showing that a TON-based cryptocurrency wallet fraud tool issued a notice of closure. The wallet fraud tool claimed that the lack of "whales" or "big players" in the TON community was detrimental to its business. The hackers wrote: "Due to the absence of whales in TON and the small size of the community, we will shut down our services."This wallet fraud tool then directed users to assets on a fraudulent Bitcoin network, stating that if users enjoyed stealing on TON, they would also like to operate on the Bitcoin network. The hackers also promoted another service and explicitly stated that the TON-based fraud tool would not return. Blockaid co-founder Raz Niv mentioned that more and more hackers are starting to take an interest in the TON ecosystem because the value of assets transferred via TON is very high. Some scams also exploit TON's transfer comment feature to disguise the true purpose of signatures, tricking users into signing false transactions and thereby stealing their assets.
