After experiencing the turmoil of layoffs, Gavin Wood handing over to professional managers, and the painful bear market with ecosystem projects leaving, the Polkadot team delivered a series of new features and functionalities in 2023, including XCM V3, the OpenGoV governance module, system parachains, asynchronous support, and parallel threads, to enhance interoperability, governance participation, efficiency, and the scalability of parachains within the ecosystem. In 2024, Polkadot will open a new chapter: Polkadot 2.0.
