Prime Minister Lee urged the public to remain vigilant and not to be deceived.On December 29, Lee Hsien Loong posted on Facebook, reminding the public to be cautious during the "season of scams." He mentioned that there have recently been some deepfake videos using his audio to promote cryptocurrency scams, and Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has also recently become a target. Scammers are using artificial intelligence technology to imitate their voices and images, and to alter footage taken of them in official settings.It is reported that in this fake video, Lee Hsien Loong mentioned investment opportunities approved by the Singapore government during an interview with CGTN host Zou Yun, promoting a so-called "revolutionary investment platform" designed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
