ChainCatcher news, financial lawyer Scott Johnsson stated on the X platform that the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) is almost certainly selling the Bitcoin from Silk Road. According to the service agreement signed between USMS and Coinbase in June, USMS has been sending Bitcoin to the custodial addresses required by the agreement.Given that the agreement requires USMS's assets to be kept completely segregated, once the transfers ultimately reach Coinbase Prime (or other mixed trading addresses), it can be determined that USMS has sold or is about to sell these Bitcoins.The final sale situation will be confirmed at the latest in the report of the Department of Justice's asset forfeiture program for fiscal year 2024.

However, VanEck did not use cash as seed capital like BlackRock's iShares, but instead suggested using Bitcoin as seed capital.Previously, BlackRock planned to provide seed capital for its Bitcoin ETF in October. Seed capital refers to the funds contributed by banks and brokerages to purchase underlying assets (in this case, Bitcoin) in exchange for ETF shares that can be traded on the open market on the first day of listing.
