The DFINITY Foundation is developing global standard technologies to incentivize recycling activities
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the DFINITY Foundation is developing a global standard technology to incentivize recycling activities and is collaborating with management consulting firm Roland Berger.Inspired by the carbon credit market, Roland Berger launched the Voluntary Recycling Credit (VRC) standard this June. The company stated in a press release that the VRC initiative aims to address the global issues in the waste management sector that contribute to climate change, adding that the global recycling rate of plastic waste is less than 10% out of the 2 billion tons of municipal solid waste generated each year.DFINITY will build a product on the Internet Computer for the purchase, sale, and trading of recycling credits, allowing recyclers, waste producers, and others to track these credits.
