Chainlink VRF v2.5 has been launched on Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Polygon mainnets
ChainCatcher news, the oracle project Chainlink announced that Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) v2.5 has officially launched on the mainnets of Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Polygon. It is reported that the Chainlink VRF v2.5 upgrade provides a new way to programmatically pay for VRF on-chain randomness. For example, dApps can transfer the cost of VRF calls to end users at the time of request, enabling fully autonomous dApps without the need for a team to maintain subscription contract balances. In addition, the v2.5 upgrade introduces a new pricing model to calculate the fees paid for each request, charging a premium based on a percentage of the Gas costs associated with the VRF callback, rather than a static LINK premium. The VRF smart contract now includes a new migration feature that developers can call to upgrade their VRF integration to the next version, simplifying the upgrade process.
