Latest Ethereum ACDE Conference: Pectra Devnet 5 specifications involve EIP 7742, 7691, 7742
ChainCatcher news, Galaxy's Vice President of Research Christine Kim published a summary of the 201st Ethereum Core Developers Execution (ACDE) conference call. During the call, EF Developer Operations Engineer Parithosh Jayanthi highlighted three open pull requests (PR) for the Pectra Devnet 5 specification and requested the client teams to review them as soon as possible to finalize the Devnet 5 specification, as follows:EIP 7742, removing the blob limit between Cl and EL for each block (consensus);Adding EIP 7691, increasing blob throughput (consensus);Changes required for EIP 7742 (execution API).Core developer Tim Beiko stated that he would add EIP 7691 to the Pectra Meta EIP after the call. EF researcher Ansgar Dietrichs mentioned that he has identified the updated score for EIP 7691 and is ready to merge it into the Devnet 5 specification.Additionally, the developers have agreed to remove pre-Merge block body and receipt data by May 1, 2025.
