ChainCatcher news, the movie subscription service MoviePass has completed a seed funding round, led by Animoca Brands, with participation from Claritas Capital, Emerald Plus, Gaingels, Harlem Capital, PKO VC, and Sandhill Angels. As part of the deal, Yat Siu, the executive chairman and co-founder of Animoca Brands, will join the board of MoviePass.MoviePass stated that it plans to use the new funds to accelerate the testing phase of its cinema subscription service relaunch and to develop and implement the company's Web3 strategy, which includes virtual reality cinema experiences and using technology to drive cinema traffic.
