Lockstake Engine

MakerDAO will launch the first phase of Endgame in the summer, which will release new tokens, the Lockstake engine, and all major features

ChainCatcher news, MakerDAO founder Rune Christensen announced the latest update on his endgame plan "Endgame" in the governance forum, which will launch the first phase of Endgame, called "Launch Season," in the summer of 2024. During this phase, all major features of Endgame will be released rapidly and consecutively. The goal is to quickly achieve a fully functional virtuous cycle, where SubDAOs, token economics, new brands, and new user acquisition channels will work together to exponentially increase Dai usage. The specific plans for this phase are as follows:New brand unveiling: The first phase of "Launch Season" is the showcase of the new brand, which will last for one month. During this period, early adopters can register to receive a launch bonus that will increase their earnings when the new tokens become available.New token launch: One month after the brand showcase, two new tokens for the ecosystem will be available: NewStable and NewGovToken (the actual names will be shared during the brand showcase). After the new tokens are launched, the Lockstake Engine (LSE) will be initiated. The Lockstake Engine (LSE) encourages long-term participation in governance, allowing MKR and NewGovToken holders to lock their tokens for long-term commitments, thereby increasing their risk/reward regarding the protocol's success and providing greater motivation to participate in governance.New bridge launch: After the LSE is launched, the first version of NewBridge will be introduced, connecting NewStable, NewGovTokens, and other Maker ecosystem tokens from the Ethereum mainnet to major L2s (to be determined).Maker's first SubDAO, Spark. In addition to the first phase of Endgame, Christensen also mentioned three other phases: scaling, new chain (NewChain), and the final phase.
