ChainCatcher news, the Linux Foundation has established the Open Metaverse Foundation (OMF), aimed at providing a collaborative space for various industries dedicated to developing open-source software and standards for the metaverse. Founding members include the ChainHub Foundation, Cloud Native Computing Foundation, Futurewei, GenXP, and others.It is reported that OMF is specifically divided into eight Fundamental Interest Groups (FIGs), namely Users, Transactions, Digital Assets, Simulation and Virtual Worlds, Artificial Intelligence, Networking, Security and Privacy, and Legal and Policy. These groups will provide targeted resources and forums for identifying new ideas, completing work, and recruiting new contributors. Each group is composed of members from specific disciplines dedicated to advancing projects or scalable technologies within their themes and ensuring the ownership of code for each identifiable sub-part of the project (e.g., GitHub.org, repositories, subdirectories, APIs, tests, issues, PRs).
