Two luxury jets allegedly owned by SBF may be seized by the U.S. Department of Justice
ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, two luxury jets allegedly owned by SBF but never used by him may face the risk of being seized, as U.S. prosecutors seek to recover assets in an ongoing legal lawsuit.According to documents from the U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday, the two planes are a Bombardier Global 5000 BD-700-1A11, registered as N410AT, and an Embraer Legacy EMB-135BJ, registered as C6-BDE. These two planes are listed as part of SBF's assets.In August of this year, FTX's creditors claimed ownership of these planes, with one Bombardier Global jet having been seized by the government since February. However, the Bahamian charter flight operator Island Air Capital (IAC) has disputed the ownership, claiming they originally purchased the two planes for $15.9 million and $12.5 million respectively, using financing provided by FTX.
