Loopring releases June hack incident report: 58 users affected, shifting focus to Loopring Layer 3 and DeFi
ChainCatcher news, Ethereum Layer 2 protocol Loopring has reported multiple hacking incidents affecting Loopring smart wallet users, stating that the recent events are actually a mix of two independent but interconnected incidents, ultimately leading to some affected Loopring smart wallet users losing funds. In April, the Loopring relayer was attacked, resulting in the loss of internal assets for the team, and in June, the Loopring wallet addresses suffered a subsequent attack, causing 58 user addresses to lose funds. Although users are ultimately responsible for the security of their self-custody to ensure protection against centralization and single points of failure, the Loopring team is willing to collaborate with more law enforcement and security teams to help users recover lost assets.Loopring stated that in light of this incident, we are shifting resources and core focus to the multi-network Loopring Layer 3 and Loopring DeFi DApp product suite. The Loopring Wallet will remain open to existing users, but mobile development efforts will shift towards optimizing the Loopring DeFi DApp.
