ChainCatcher news, Coinbase Financial Markets, Inc. has received regulatory approval from the National Futures Association (NFA), a self-regulatory organization designated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), to operate as a futures commission merchant (FCM) and to provide cryptocurrency futures trading services through Coinbase for eligible U.S. customers.

ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, cryptocurrency exchange operator Binance and its co-founder Changpeng Zhao have requested a U.S. federal judge to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.Lawyers for Binance and Zhao submitted a motion to dismiss on Thursday in a Chicago court, stating in the document: "In this case, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission is attempting to regulate foreign individuals and companies that reside and operate outside the United States. This exceeds the limits of its statutory authority and tramples on the deeply rooted principles of comity between foreign sovereign nations."Previous report, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) sued the company and Zhao in March this year, accusing them of deliberately taking steps to evade U.S. laws, including intentionally allowing U.S. residents to use the platform to trade cryptocurrency derivatives, despite Binance never being registered.

ChainCatcher news, a federal court has ordered the digital asset exchange Digitex Futures and its founder and CEO Adam Todd to pay a fine of over $15 million for violating manipulation and registration rules set by U.S. regulators.It is reported that the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) first charged Todd and his exchange last year after discovering that Todd and his exchange attempted to manipulate the price of their native DGTX token and failed to register with the agency. ChainCatcher news, citing sources familiar with the matter, reports that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has concluded its investigation, finding that the bankrupt crypto lending platform Celsius Network and its former CEO Alex Mashinsky violated U.S. regulations before the platform's bankruptcy. It is believed that Celsius misled investors and should have registered with regulators, and Alex Mashinsky also violated relevant regulations.Sources indicate that if a majority of CFTC commissioners agree with this conclusion, the agency may file a lawsuit in federal court as early as this month.
