A hacker group has stolen user data from the bankrupt Bitcoin ATM operator Coin Cloud
ChainCatcher news reports that Twitter user vc-underground tweeted that one (or more) unidentified hacker groups have stolen 70,000 customer selfies and 300,000 pieces of sensitive personal information from Bitcoin ATM operator Coin Cloud, including social security numbers, birth dates, names, email addresses, phone numbers, current occupations, and actual addresses. The group claims to possess personal data of users residing in the United States and Brazil. The group also claims to have stolen the source code of the entire Coin Cloud backend system.It is reported that in February, Coin Cloud filed for bankruptcy in a Nevada court, estimating liabilities between $100 million and $500 million, and assets between $50 million and $100 million, with over 10,000 creditors, among which Coin Cloud's largest creditor is Genesis Global Trading, which has provided over $100 million in unsecured loans.
