OKX proposes the modular smart account ERC-7579 standard

ChainCatcher news, OKX announced a formal proposal for the ERC-7579 standard in collaboration with Biconomy, ZeroDev, and Rhinestone. This standard simplifies and unifies modular smart account management technology, aiming to help developers more conveniently customize features for Web3 wallet users and improve the user experience. By introducing the ERC-7579 standard, it provides developers with a minimized and standardized approach to handling modular smart accounts and enhances the interoperability of modular smart accounts across different wallet service providers, thereby reducing the fragmentation of the smart account community and promoting a more integrated blockchain ecosystem. Furthermore, the ERC-7579 standard paves the way for a "module store," allowing any developer to create modules compatible with different smart accounts, unlocking infinite possibilities in the realm of Web3 wallets and related solutions. It is understood that OKX is a significant innovator in the field of account abstraction, having officially launched the AA smart contract account on August 1, 2023, enabling OKX Web3 wallet users to pay Gas with USDC or USDT. In the future, the OKX AA smart contract account will introduce more features, such as social recovery, allowing users to select trusted "guardians" from their social network to assist in regaining control of their accounts even if they lose their private keys.
