ChainCatcher news, according to the official announcement, the BNB Beacon Chain is expected to undergo the scheduled Barral hard fork upgrade at block height 310,182,000. Based on the current block generation speed, the hard fork is expected to occur on April 21 at 15:00 Beijing time. Full node operators on the mainnet must switch their software version to v0.10.10 before April 21.In this upgrade, BEP171 will introduce several security enhancements for the cross-chain bridging between the BNB Beacon Chain and the BNB Smart Chain. To further mitigate the widespread impact of potential issues in the cross-chain module, BEP171 proposes the following improvements: 1. Upgrade IAVL proof verification to the ICS23 specification. 2. Apply timer locks for large fund cross-chain transfer applications. 3. Cross-chain channels can be automatically paused through forged proof detection. 4. In emergencies, any validator can pause the cross-chain channel. (source link)
