Sequentia Co-founder: 69% of Dogecoin network nodes have been compromised by a serious vulnerability
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Bitcoin sidechain Sequentia co-founder Andreas Kohl claims he has compromised 69% of the Dogecoin network nodes, using an old laptop from El Salvador to execute the operation.Blockchair data shows that before the exploit was utilized, Dogecoin had 647 active nodes. Currently, Dogecoin only has 315 active nodes. It is reported that on December 4, an X account named "Department Of DOGE Efficiency" publicly disclosed a vulnerability on the Dogecoin network, which they believe could lead to a complete collapse of the Dogecoin chain. According to this account, the "DogeReaper" vulnerability allows anyone to remotely compromise any Dogecoin node.Through DogeReaper, anyone can write down the address of a node and cause the node to die due to a segmentation fault. In computing, a segmentation fault occurs when a program tries to access a part of memory that is not allowed. When this happens, the operating system stops the program for security reasons, causing the program to crash.
