Amazon has commissioned independent film production company AGBO to produce a TV series about FTX

ChainCatcher news, according to Variety, tech giant Amazon's subsidiary Amazon Studios has commissioned a television series about the scandal and collapse of the FTX exchange. Independent film production company AGBO will be responsible for producing the new series. The studio is led by American directors and producers Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo, collectively known as the Russo brothers.The series is expected to begin filming in early 2023 and will consist of eight episodes. American writer, producer, and director David Weil will be responsible for writing and producing the pilot episode. In addition to executive producing, the Russos are also in talks to direct. Other executive producers include AGBO's Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes, along with Natalie Laine Williams.According to sources, the Amazon series will be based on "inside reports" from many journalists who have covered FTX and Bankman-Fried, although it is currently confidential which original materials the show will draw inspiration from. Sources also noted that discussions have taken place with several Marvel actors who have previously collaborated with the Russos about joining the series in key roles, but all these discussions are still in the preliminary stages.Previously, ChainCatcher reported on November 18 that an Oscar-nominated director was set to direct a documentary about the FTX collapse in the Bahamas.
