ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the open-source communication platform Status based on Ethereum has announced a partnership with Consensys-supported Linea to launch a Layer 2 scaling solution. The two parties are collaborating to develop a Layer 2 network called Status Network, which will run in parallel with Linea's zkEVM chain. Status core contributor Cyprien Grau stated, "By launching Status Network, we aim to build the infrastructure necessary to support a decentralized applications and services ecosystem."Linea's global head Nicolas Liochon remarked, "Given Status's contributions to the core operations of Ethereum and its consumer-facing Status application, our collaboration with Status is a natural fit." The Ethereum consensus client Nimbus developed by Status will be transformed into a Linea client. This collaboration will focus on decentralizing Linea's ordering and proving processes and will support innovative initiatives in areas such as public financing, social applications, GameFi, and governance experiments.
