ChainCatcher news, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) has filed a lawsuit against the sports betting company DraftKings in the federal court in New York, accusing it of violating the licensing agreement for the use of NFL players' likenesses and owing nearly $65 million.Previously, DraftKings canceled its NFT gaming experience due to "legal developments," which is related to a class action lawsuit concerning whether NFTs are unregistered securities. The NFLPA pointed out that five DraftKings executives have received a total of $261 million in compensation since 2021, which is four times the amount owed by the company.

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, a U.S. judge in Massachusetts has denied DraftKings' request to dismiss a class action lawsuit filed by its NFT buyers.Buyer Justin Dufoe first filed the lawsuit against DraftKings in March 2023 on behalf of other owners, claiming that these NFTs meet the requirements of the Howey test. In this recent ruling, the court recognized that DraftKings' NFTs involve an investment of money, a common enterprise where assets are pooled, shared risks and profits, and a reasonable expectation of profits from DraftKings' efforts, thus they may be classified as securities under the Howey test.

ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, casual gaming startup Burn Ghost, which rewards players with NFT prizes, has completed a $3.1 million seed funding round, co-led by Drive by DraftKings and gaming-focused fund Bitkraft Ventures, with participation from Pillar VC.It is reported that Burn Ghost's CEO and co-founder Steve Curran stated that Burn Ghost will not develop complex games built around NFTs, but will focus on simple, easy-to-play casual games with skill elements.
